Answering AHY's Accusation, Moeldoko: So A Leader Must Be Strong, Don't Get Bored

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko has spoken about accusations by the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), that there is involvement of officials in the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to remove him from his position.

He asked no one to disturb President Jokowi and bring the palace into this political chaos. Because, Moeldoko said, President Jokowi had nothing to do with the issue of this resignation.

"The first point is not a little bit at the palace, in this case I remind you once again not to do a little bit of the palace and don't bother Pak Jokowi in this matter. Because, he doesn't know at all, he doesn't know anything on this issue," he said. Moeldoko at a press conference broadcast online, Monday, February 1.

Furthermore, he advised AHY to become a strong leader and not easily get carried away. Moreover, the issue of this resignation actually originated from within the party, not from outside. "The term coup, yes, a coup from within including from home," he said.

"Next, my advice is to become a leader, you have to be a strong leader. Don't get bored easily, get swayed and so on. If your men can't go anywhere, just handcuff them," he added.

Previously reported, AHY revealed that there was a movement trying to remove him from the position of Chairman of the Democratic Party.

This movement is echoed by five figures. They consist of one active Democrat cadre, one cadre who has been inactive for 6 years, one former cadre who was dishonorably dismissed for 9 years due to corruption, one cadre who left the party 3 years ago, and one non-cadre of the Democratic Party.

AHY said, one figure who is not from within the party is a high official in the government of President Joko Widodo. In fact, there are a number of ministers who reportedly support this movement.

"This movement involves important government officials who are functionally within the circle of power closest to President Joko Widodo. This movement is also said to have received support from a number of ministers and important officials in President Joko Widodo's administration," said AHY.
