JAKARTA - The rampant installation of aerial cable utilities that are chaotic and dangling cables in the Menteng District area, Central Jakarta will soon be followed up by the Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-Dept. Currently, Central Jakarta Bina Marga has received many reports regarding this incident.
"If there is information or reports of (chaotic) dangling cables and utility poles tilting, we will check the location," said Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-Dept Head, Soleh, when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, August 8.
Soleh said, although it is not his authority to control the messy aerial cable utilities, his party is trying to tidy up the messy air cable lines that are disturbing the community.
"We are seeking security measures in the field. However, the (chaotic) cables and poles actually belong to and are the responsibility of each utility operator," he said.
Furthermore, Soleh detailed, in the future, the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Agency will coordinate with APJATEL (Association of Telecommunications Network Operators) and utility-owning operators to immediately make arrangements for a number of chaotic aerial cables in Central Jakarta.
"Currently we are coordinating with Apjatel and the operators who own the utilities to ask them to organize and tidy up their respective utility networks," he said.
Meanwhile, if there is a utility manhole in the area on the road, the Bina Marga Sub-Dept. has asked the utility operators to immediately put their chaotic cables underground.
"On roads that already have utility manholes, we will ask them to enter the utility network into the manhole," he said.

Previously it was reported that local residents began to complain about the increasingly chaotic condition of the aerial cable on Cikini IV Street, Menteng District, Central Jakarta.
"In my opinion, this is very chaotic. It's quite dangerous, especially since it's a place for pedestrians to pass too," said Karyo, a motorcyclist, Monday, August 7.
Karyo said that the cable really disrupted road access and residents' activities, especially since the network of cables that are chaotic is above the sidewalk. In addition, Karyo explained that the sight of the messy cables had been going on for a long time and had not been fixed.
