JAKARTA - The allegation of a body checking session in the form of nude or naked photos at an annual beauty contest that took place in Ancol, North Jakarta was reported to the Polda Metro Jaya. The report is registered with the number LP/B/4598/VII/2023 SPKT POLDA METRO JAYA. "“Alhamdulillah, our report received at the SPKT (Integrated Police Service Center) was related to the alleged criminal act of sexual violence,” said the victim's attorney, Mellisa Anggraini when met at the SPKT Polda Metro Jaya, Antara, Monday, August 7. Mellisa explained, the beginning of the case was on August 1, 2023. "There has been an incident where a body checking has suddenly been carried out on the contestants outside the official agenda," he said. This happened beyond expectations and beyond the knowledge of each contestant. Mellisa added that when carrying out the body checking, the participants were photographed naked so that the action hurt the dignity of women. According to him, there was no prior notification to the participants. “ Wherever people want body checking, they will be notified," he said. But, he said, it never existed and was not done with good preparation. "In any place, it's not private, there's even an opposite sex, ” he said. Mellisa said, this makes the contestants feel harassed, feel uncomfortable and feel sick because they are not appreciated as women. "So we report this and these victims want justice from the perpetrator," he said. Mellisa added that her party had brought evidence of video recordings and photos to the Polda Metro Jaya when reporting activity organizers or event organizers (EO) at the contest. “ Regarding the evidence, of course there are letter documents, yes, then there are photos and videos. We were also quite surprised when we saw the photo taken by them,” he said.

Mellisa reported that the organizers of the activity were subject to Article 4, 5, 6, 14, 15 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence.
