JAKARTA - Head of the National Police's Medical and Health Center, Inspector General Asep Hendradiana, explained the steps that a team of doctors would take to cure Suthan Rif'at Alfatih, a victim of a fiber optic cable accident who is currently undergoing treatment at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital.
"Currently, the progress of Ananda Sultan will carry out generalized treatment to prepare further treatment, which is a definitive treatment, as the doctor wants and as his family hopes," Asep said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 4.
Asep specifically visited Sultan Rif'at who since Thursday (3/8) has been undergoing treatment at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, on the orders of the National Police Chief.
During treatment at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, the Sultan will be treated by a team of specialist doctors from the National Police Hospital and the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta.
The team of doctors tried their best to provide the best care to the Sultan as ordered by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
"Hopefully what the National Police Chief and his family hope for the Sultan to recover can be realized," said Asep.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Police Hospital, Brigadier General Hariyanto, revealed that the results of the initial examination showed that the Sultan had lost weight.
During the treatment, the team of doctors will try to increase the weight of the Brawijaya Malang University student first.
"Heaved before the 68 kilogram accident, currently 46 kilograms," said Hariyanto.
In the next stage, the team of doctors will determine and complete the examination for operational steps if the fictional condition of the Sultan is stable.
"Operational recovery really depends on his physical condition. Currently, improvements are common conditions, including very thin weight, while the team assesses other actions," he said.
Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo sent a team of Police Medicine and Health to assist Sultan Rif 'at Alfatih, the accident victim due to being entangled in fiber optic cables in the South Jakarta area.
The National Police Chief ordered the Police Dokkes and the South Jakarta Police to help facilitate the treatment of the Sultan at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.
The accident began when Sultan Rif'at and his friends were riding motorbikes and when they crossed Jalan Raya Antasari, South Jakarta, had an incident. The incident took place at around 22.00 WIB on January 5, 2023.

Although caught in the car, the cable did not break and turned to the original direction right when the Sultan passed. As a result, the Sultan immediately fell due to a cable that hit his neck and suffered injuries.
Sultan was then taken to Fatmawati Hospital, South Jakarta, to get first aid. Sultan suffered bleeding in his throat and lungs were also submerged in water so he had to receive intensive care.
The incident also caused the victim's throat to break so that until now he had to use a tube to put food and drinks into his body. Only milk and liquid food that became his intake resulted in the Sultan's weight dropping drastically.
