The Nduga Police Chief, Kompol Vj Parapaga, said a number of Kenyam residents helped withdraw the plane which was reported to have slipped at around 09.30 WIT, Friday, August 4.
The plane piloted by Herland Rumpoko and technician Aris Kurniawan arrived in Nduga from Timika.
Parapaga explained that when they landed at Kenyam airport, the plane suddenly slipped. The community around the airport with the security forces helped push the unlucky plane into the airfield area. "Pilot and technicians were then taken to Kenyam Hospital for a medical examination," he said.
Parapaga ensures that this incident is not related to security. Currently, the situation at Kenyam airport is conducive. "The situation in the Kamtibmas situation in the Nduga Police area is currently relatively conducive but the security forces are always on standby," he said.
