Chief Of Police Instructions: Not Only Remove Pattern Number 8 And Zig-Zag Motor SIM Test, Paths Are Also Widen

JAKARTA - The National Police changed the pattern of numbers 8 and zig zag in the practice test for making a driving license (SIM) for motorcycles with the letter S. In fact, the track was widened to make it easier for the applicants.

"The previous number 8, now the letter S. The width of the track is widened from 1.5 times the width of the vehicle to 2.5 times the width of the vehicle," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Usman Latief, quoted on Friday, August 4.

The change in one of the motorcycle driving practice tests is based on the results of the analysis and study that has been carried out.

The main focus of the change is to reduce the level of difficulty but not reduce the safety and expertise of motorists.

"It's based on the results of accommodation from four SIM test materials," he said.

In addition, the change in the track of the S-letter practice test is also a follow-up to the direction of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The implementation will begin on Friday 4 August.

"Following up on the order of the National Police Chief, Korlantas has issued instructions for the latest SIM test mechanism," said Latif.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked his staff to continue to develop and improve the mechanism in vehicle management to making SIMs. This is because there are still many complaints from the public regarding this matter.

"If we look at it, making SIMs is still difficult. Case reports are the same, changing the name of the vehicle and so on. And of course we will always make improvements," said Sigit.

Currently, the Division of Technology, Information and Communication (ICT) to Korlantas Polri has started improvement efforts. For example, the process is no longer manual but digital.

Efforts to improve it are quite good. Because, it can cut time to improve service quality.

"People can get enough services by using the application that we are currently preparing, we are currently uniting all applications into one service called Super Apps," he said.

In his statement, Sigit had mentioned the test for making sim C or two-wheeled vehicles. Where, there are several tests that need to be checked for relevance by driving.

"I ask the Traffic Police to make improvements, the number eight is still appropriate or not, what is called going through, the zig-zag zig-zag, is still appropriate or not. I think if it is irrelevant, fix it," said Sigit.
