Rejang Lebong Police Chief AKBP Juda Trisno Tampubolon said the case of abuse by the teacher of SMAN 7 Rejang Lebong occurred on Tuesday (1/8) morning at SMAN 7 Rejang Lebong which is located on Jalan Lintas Curup-Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, precisely in Simpang Beliti Village, Binduriang District.

"Currently, investigators from the Rejang Lebong Police have pocketed the identity of the perpetrator and are still being chased by officers, because after carrying out the action the perpetrator immediately fled," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 3.

He explained that he had ordered his staff, including the Padang Ulak Tanding Police (PUT), to find the whereabouts of the perpetrators of the persecution until they got it.

"The PUT Police Chief has made persuasive efforts by visiting the perpetrator's family, with the hope that the perpetrator can surrender," he explained.

Separately, the chairman of the Rejang Lebong DPRD, Mahdi Husen, admitted that he was sorry for the incident that happened to the high school teacher who served in the area and hoped that this case would not happen again.

"I have contacted the Bengkulu Provincial Education Office because the authority of SMA/SMK is in the province. But in terms of this area, the Rejang Lebong area, we feel concerned and regret this incident," he explained.
