Social Minister Sends 17 Ton Logistics Assistance To Help Residents Affected By Drought In Puncak, Central Papua

Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that his party had sent logistical assistance with a total weight of 17.1 tons to deal with drought in two districts of Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

"Well, it's running, it's finished. Our help is smooth. I made six trips," said Risma when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.

Risma explained that her party had distributed aid from Wednesday (26/7) to Monday (31/7) or for five days by plane.

Based on reports on the distribution of Ministry of Social assistance, the logistical assistance distributed was in the form of ready-to-eat food, children's food, side dishes, canned food, biscuits, rolled tents, children's and adults' clothes, as well as blankets.

The total aid items reached 17.1 tons which were distributed to two districts affected by drought, namely Agandugume District and Lambewi District.

For details, the assistance provided consisted of 4,000 packages of ready-to-eat food, 4,000 packages of children's food, 2,000 packages of ready-to-eat side dishes, 125 boxes of sardines, 32 boxes of meat cornets, 15 boxes of beef abon and 118 boxes of biscuits.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also handed over 500 rolled tents, 3,000 sets of children's clothes, 4,000 sets of adult clothes, 4,000 adult pants, and 4,000 sheets of blankets.

The drought that occurred in Puncak Regency, Central Papua caused local residents to have difficulty getting clean water, resulting in the death of six residents.

The six victims who allegedly died from diarrhea and dehydration included five adults and a baby died.
