SLEMAN - Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) confirmed that the victims of mutilation carried out by two suspects, namely Waliyin (29) and RS (38) were students from the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), named Redho Tri Agustian.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan, said what ensured that his party concluded that the victim was Redho Tri Agustian based on the results of the DNA examination of the victim and her parents.

The police then conducted an in-depth investigation of the body's findings at the Bhayangkara Polda DIY Hospital so that the identity of the victim was found to be male, a resident of Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

"The identity of the victim on behalf of the initials R, the person concerned is a student at a private university in Yogyakarta," he said.

The police team then carried out the crime scene (TKP), digital forensics, and collected public information and narrowed the identities of the two suspects W and RD who were known to be in West Java.

Both were successfully secured at RD's residence in Bogor, West Java, then taken to Yogyakarta on Saturday night, July 15.

"From the suspect's trip here (Yogyakarta), we interrogated where they threw away the pieces (of the victim's body)," said Endriadi.
