Unidentified Man Desperately Throws Himself Into Bekasi River Stream

JAKARTA - A man recklessly committed suicide by throwing his body into the Bekasi River, Rawa Lumbu District, Bekasi City, West Java on Monday, July 31. The alleged suicide made the victim's body disappear at the water depth of the Bekasi River.

Until this afternoon, the joint SAR Team was still searching for the man. The incident occurred at around 08.00 WIB.

"Since this morning we have been conducting a search with joint SAR elements with water SAR equipment complete with underwater object detection," said Bekasi SAR Alert Unit Coordinator Rizky Dwianto when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 31, afternoon.

At the time of the incident, the victim was rescued by a witness who saw it using a bucket and bamboo. But unfortunately, the victim could not be helped.

Meanwhile, rescue personnel from the Bekasi SAR Alert Unit were then deployed to search for victims.

"Search efforts were carried out using rubber boats and detected signs of victims using Aqua Eye and Underwater Searching Device around the scene," he said.

Dozens of joint SAR personnel were deployed in an effort to search for victims including the Bekasi SAR Alert Unit, Bekasi City BPBD, Bekasi City Fire Department, East Bekasi Police and the surrounding community.
