JAKARTA - The presidential candidate from the PDI-P Ganjar Pranowo revealed that there has been no discussion from the Gapura Nusantara Volunteers regarding the support for the former TNI Commander General (Purnawirawan) Andika Perkasa as a candidate for vice president (readwapres). "Not yet. All are still in the process of communication and selection," said Ganjar after discussing with retired TNI and Polri who are members of the Gapura Nusantara Volunteers (RGN) in the Ancol area, Pamamangan, North Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, July 30. One of the focuses of retired TNI and Polri who are members of RGN, namely regarding the main weapon system (alutsista) in the country which must be able to compete in the current technological era. "There are so many defense equipment stories, human resources stories, projection stories about defense and security in the future. Because there are problems that we have to solve in terms of the development of the world of technology," said Ganjar. In addition, the issue of the welfare of TNI and Polri soldiers was also discussed at the meeting. Ganjar said that a number of inputs would be accommodated to find a solution when elected in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). Then in the reserve component aspect, the retired suggested the need for careful design of the plan to form a reserve component related to the deployment of strength.
