This small dining area of less than 500 square feet is part of a 20th century rural stone house located near Vacone Village, north of Rome, Italy.

Privacy and confidentiality are the main rules. This place almost feels like a speakeasy, except for the fact that this place is advertised and widely reviewed and its location is known.

Orders must be made by telephone, at night, and confirmed 10 days before the event. The details of the adjusted food will be explained at the time of confirmation.

There are strict rules. Visitors cannot enter at will to take a look inside before making a reservation. Food cannot be canceled in the last minute.

In addition, guests are required to come at a certain time that has been agreed upon by the owner of the dining area, which prepares and serves complex foods.

The arrival time is key. Guests have to call on the way 30 minutes before arriving and don't come too early, or they will find the entrance that is closed and no one welcomes them.

The owner, a team of three local food entrepreneurs who have been running Solo Per Due for 33 years, declined to name them unless you had ordered dinner. This is to ensure confidentiality and increase the mysterious appeal of this place, they said.

"This is not a restaurant, we offer a unique and intimate experience that is at the heart of our decades of reputation. So, it's not about us or who we are, we're in the shadow. It's all about visitors," said one owner who calls himself "Mr Remo" as reported by CNN July 25.

"People who come here are not just clients. They are guests that we serve well. We pamper them and make sure this special moment is what they want. Everything is adjusted to their needs," he continued.

A servant is always at the location but remains hidden unless he is actively called, so he doesn't look disturbing. Guests can call him with a silver bell.

The location of the Solo Per Due is extraordinary, surrounded by exotic parks with various palm tree species from around the world, overlooking archaeological sites.

When guests arrived, the entrance and park were decorated with candles that were lit to welcome the guests.

"After orders are confirmed, our guests will choose the right menu, be it fish or meat, desserts, wine, background music, and flower decorations. We only prepare typical Italian seasonal foods paired with high-end wine," said Remo.

He stressed two main rules: never cancel orders in the last minute, and never arrive earlier than the specified time.

"We also pay attention to the two names that will be written on a heart-shaped washing cake, a special phrase that will be written on the card that will be attached to the flower, as well as the background music chosen by the visitors," said Remo.
