SEMARANG - Ministry of State Civil Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform mentions the concept of part-time for Government Employees with a fair Work Agreement (PPPK) for honorary staff.

"In the revision of the ASN Law regarding the PPPK concept, it is possible to work part-time," said Deputy for Human Resources (HR) of the Ministry of PAN RB Dr Alex Denni in Semarang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 26.

This was conveyed after the Public Test of the ASN Draft Law in lieu of Law Number 5/2014 concerning ASN which took place at the Semarang State University (Unnes).

According to Alex, the government is indeed faced with problems related to the large number of honorary workers whose temporary data amounts to 2.3 million people whose working period will expire in November 2023.

The revision of the ASN Law, he said, is trying to find the best solution for all parties so that there is no mass termination of employment (PHK) and there is no increase in the government budget.

No less important, he ensures that the income received by honorary workers so far will not decrease with the revision of the ASN Law so there is no need to worry.

"Revision of the Law (ASN, ed.) related to the PPPK concept makes it possible to work part-time. PPPK works part-time to ensure their income solutions do not decrease, but the (work) hours are adjusted to be fairer," he said.

With the concept of part-time, he said, honorary staff can maximize their time to find additional income after working hours in government agencies are over.

"Teachers in certain areas, such as math, who can go to class only twice a week. With part-time, in addition to teaching there, they can also teach in private schools, madrasas, or open tutoring," he said.

With the concept of full-time work like this so far, he said, honorary staff must be in the agency where they work during full working hours, even though their duties are not full all day.

"For example, as an honorary (student) who comes there (school) even though he doesn't teach. This is not fair. Paying is not good enough, but the time is fully consumed," he said.

In addition, Alex also said that the concept of part-time PPPK can be applied in almost all fields of work, from government, education, to health so that there are no significant obstacles.

"For example, computer operators, teachers for certain subjects who teach them twice a week, nurses. Doctors are the same, they can work part-time at health centers, private hospitals, or open practices at home," he said.
