KPK Confiscates Cash During OTT Basarnas Officials

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated cash during a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Tuesday, July 25 yesterday. It is suspected that this finding is related to the process of procuring debris victims detection equipment at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas).

"The confiscated evidence is in the form of cash," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in a written statement, Thursday, July 26.

Firli is still closing the meeting about the exact number of money found by investigators. He only said that a request for information was still being made.

"The nominal amount will be conveyed during a press conference," he said.

Previously, the anti-corruption commission held OTT in the Cilangkap, East Jakarta and Jatisampurna areas, Bekasi. From the silent activity, eight people were taken to the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

The KPK now has 1x24 hours to examine eight people, one of whom is a Basarnas official. Later, suspects and the rasuah practice mode will be presented at a press conference.
