MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda) have named two suspects in the alleged criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in the Libya country with the victim of two migrant workers from Sumbawa.

"We have detained the two suspects," said Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Police Kombes Teddy Ristiawan in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.

Regarding the identities and roles of the two suspects, Teddy chose not to disclose it to the public. He only confirmed that the two suspects came from Sumbawa Island.

"What is clear is that the two suspects are from Sumbawa, we will convey their identities when they are released," he said.

The two PMIs from Sumbawa were revealed to be victims of TIP in Libya after uploading a video recording of an outpouring of one of them with the initials SM to social media.

The government through the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Tripoli immediately followed up on the video footage by tracking the whereabouts of SM which was revealed in the Benghazi area.

After its existence was tracked down, the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli together with the Libyan Foreign Ministry and the Libya Labor Agency succeeded in repatriating the two PMIs from NTB to Indonesia on Wednesday (28/6).
