Police Arrest 4 Perpetrators Of ATM Ganjar Theft In Tangerang Regency, One Of Them Is A Woman

TANGERANG - Police arrested 4 perpetrators suspected of committing theft using the Mandiri Cash Pavilion (ATM) mode in Cangkudu Village, Balaraja, Tangerang Regency. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 16.

Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Kompol Arief Nazaruddin Yusuf said of the four perpetrators were arrested, one of whom was a woman. The 4 perpetrators had the initials MA (29), ES (50), AO (31) and MA (26).

"The Supreme Court suspect is the main actor or executor, suspects ES and AO play a role in helping the Supreme Court suspect. And suspect M acts as a collector," said Arief when confirmed, Friday, July 21.

Arief explained that the perpetrator carried out the action by blocking the hole to put the card in the ATM machine using a toothpaste. The goal is that the victim's card cannot enter the ATM machine.

"Then the perpetrator pretended to help, then exchanged the victim's ATM card with a modified ATM card prepared by the perpetrator. Meanwhile, 2 other perpetrators were tasked with peeking at the victim's PIN," he said.

After getting the victim's ATM card and PIN, the perpetrator immediately went to another ATM and then drained the victim's balance.

The victim, who just found out his balance, decreased without feeling that he had withdrawn his ATM balance. As a result, the victim reported it to the police.

The police, who received the report, immediately moved to arrest the perpetrator. Armed with CCTV footage at the crime scene (TKP). As a result, MA was arrested in the Curug area, Tangerang Regency, Tuesday, July 11.

"After an interrogation of the suspect MA, information was obtained on several ATM cards used for the crime was obtained by buying from ES and AO," he said.

On that basis, the police arrested 3 other suspects. Based on the information received, the suspect admitted that he had stolen the ATM marijuana mode more than 400 times in various areas in Banten and West Java.

Now, the suspect MA is charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 7 years in prison. The suspects ES, AO, and M were charged with Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 4 years in prison.
