The Limapuluh Kota Regency Government Is Asked To Seriously Care For Tan Malaka's House In West Sumatra

SUMBAR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Limapuluh Kota in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) is asked to seriously pay attention to and care for the Tan Malaka House which has been designated as a cultural heritage.

"This is very worrying. We ask the Regency Government (Pemkab) of Limapuluh Kota to be serious in managing Tan Malaka House as this cultural heritage," said Chairman of the West Sumatra DPRD Supardi in Padang, Friday, July 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Tan Malaka is an independence fighter and the first figure to initiate the concept of the Republic of Indonesia. Full name Sutan Ibrahim with the title Datuk Sutan Malaka. The figure from Ranah Minang was born on June 2, 1897 and died at the age of 51.

According to him, the condition of the house of the revolutionary figure and the freedom fighter was worrying and unkempt. Some of the building structures are rotten. In fact, the floor of the historic house was unable to accommodate heavy weight.

"If forced, it could collapse. Likewise, relics in the interior of the house are dusty and not maintained," he said.

Tan Malaka's house is located in Nagari Pandam Gadang, Gunuang Omeh District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. The house is about 39 kilometers from Payakumbuh City, or takes an hour and a half to travel using a four-wheeled vehicle.

Supardi said the red Gadang House with five gabions was the birth house of Tan Malaka which was designated as a cultural heritage on February 21, 2008.

About 500 meters in front of the house there were three graves with tombstones bearing the names Ibrahim Datuk Tan Malaka, Rangkaya Sinan (Mrs Tan Malaka) and Rasad Caniago (Father Tan Malaka).

"The grave that reads Tan Malaka is only a symbol. Because the original tomb is in Kediri, East Java," he said.

If you want to enter the house, visitors can meet the heirs to be guided. Inside the house are displayed photos of Tan Malaka. From when Tan Malaka was young to accompanying Bung Karno.

This includes photos or the Datuk Tan Malaka lineage. In addition, there are also several collections of books written directly by Tan Malaka such as Madilog, Gerpolek and Mass Action.
