JAKARTA - At least two trains (KA) to the Operational Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya experienced delays after the accident in Semarang, Central Java on Tuesday (19/7) night.

According to KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations manager Luqman Arif in his statement in Surabaya, Wednesday, said the two trains, namely the Kertajaya train for the Pasarsenen-Surabaya Pasarturi relation, were 83 minutes late, and the Brawijaya train for the Gambir-Malang connection was 61 minutes late.

"This requires officers to evacuate vehicles, check lanes, and ensure that the route is ready to be passed, both in the direction of Surabaya and Jakarta," he said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday.

As is known, there has been a collision between the Brantas Train and a trailer truck at a crossing on Jalan Madukoro, Semarang City, Tuesday (18/7) night. However, the police said there were no fatalities in the accident.

According to Luqman, coordination continues between officers from Daop 8 Surabaya and Daop 4 Semarang, so that the disturbed train lane can be passed again by train trips.

"The results of our coordination with officers from Daop 4 Semarang, delivered until 22.00 WIB, officers in the Daop 4 Semarang area are trying to normalize the railway line. And KA with the aim of Daop 8 Surabaya, there are 2 trains that have experienced delays in arrival," he said.

In addition, the management of KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, apologized for the occurrence of discomfort due to the incident in the Daop 4 Semarang area.

"We will continue to coordinate and provide the latest information regarding train trips from and destinations to Surabaya," he said.

Luqman explained, every day there are 11 long-distance trains that pass through the scene with arrivals in Daop 8, namely Argo Anggrek for Gambir - Pasarturi relations, Sembrani for Gambir - Pasarturi, Pandalungan for Pasarsenen - Jember and Jayabaya relations. Pasarsenen - Malang.
