No Casualties Due To Truck Accident Hit By Brantas Train In Semarang

SEMARANG - Police said there were no fatalities in the accident between the Brantas Train on the Jakarta-Blitar route and a trailer truck at a section crossing on Madukoro Street, Semarang City.

"There is no death toll, only one passenger was reported injured," said Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.

According to him, the passenger was injured as a result of falling when he was about to get out of the carriage after the incident.

Meanwhile, the truck driver and kernet were reported to have survived after managed to save themselves just before their vehicle was hit by a train.

The police chief explained that the trailer truck had a engine strike while crossing the rail. The truck driver and kernet have tried to ask for help, but they didn't have time to get into an accident.

Kombes Irwan also ensured that the trailer truck did not break through the crossing gate.

This was also confirmed by the Head of Operations Area 4 Semarang Wisnu Pramudyo. "Masinis and assistant machinist were reported to have survived the incident," he said.

Brantas' train hit the head of the trailer truck that was passing from north to south when a train locomotive hit the head of the truck.
