JAKARTA - Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani revealed that the meeting between Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto and the Chairman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Soekarnoputri is being scheduled.
"We are still waiting for when Pak Prabowo can meet with Mrs. Mega later," said Muzani as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.
Muzani said Prabowo had long conveyed his desire to meet Megawati to a number of PDIP leaders.
Megawati's busy schedule has made the two have not met until now. Even so, Muzani hopes that Prabowo and Megawati can meet as soon as possible.
"When my last meeting with Pak Hasto, he said later after Mrs. Mega returned from Bali or out of town," he explained.
Previously, Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, said that Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto was ready to meet PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri if she had free time to receive her visit.
"Kita tahu Ibu Mega ketum partai besar, pasti sibuk menjelang pemilu begini. Ini kan lagi saat penyusunan daftar caleg ya, pasti lagi sibuk sekali dia, tapi kalau begitu dia lebih, Pak Prabowo siap menemui Ibu Mega," kata Habiburokhman, Rabu (12/7).
