DENPASAR - Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Bambang Yugo Pamungkas confirmed the robbery video that was said to have taken place at the GrandLucky supermarket, Sunset Road Kuta, Badung, a hoax.

"Members have checked in the field and we can confirm that it is not true regarding the crime incident," said Bambang Yugo in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

To ensure the truth of the information, the joint personnel led directly by the Kuta Police Chief, Kompol Yogie Pramagita, came to the location by examining witnesses.

At another location, the police asked for information from one of the security supermarket officers named Supriyadi (24). Together with Supriadi, the police then checked CCTV at a time written in a netizen's upload on his Facebook account.

After checking CCTV footage at the supermarket, officers did not find the incident as uploaded by one of the residents' Facebook accounts.

Because there was no match between CCTV footage and video footage uploaded on Tuesday (11/7) the police confirmed that the incident did not occur at the GrandLucky Sunset Road Supermarket, Kuta, Bali.

Currently, activities at the supermarket are monitored to be safe and smooth.

From the results of monitoring at the location of Supermarket operational activities, it is running normally and has been opened as usual. Buyers come and nothing stands out," said Bambang.

Meanwhile, the video post has been deleted by the account owner. However, the same video is also spread across several WhatsApp groups with narratives made without confirmation and clear accuracy.

In the video, which is now widely circulated, with a duration of 2 minutes 47 seconds, three men wearing helmets are seen entering a supermarket carrying a gun.

One of the perpetrators held a cashier at gunpoint and took some money and put it in a bag, while the other perpetrators were busy monitoring the situation.

Not only that, the perpetrator hit the cashier's head and sparked resistance from the employees. In the end, the robbers were beaten by the supermarket employee.
