Worried About Being A Suspect, 8 Victims Of The Rihana-Rihani Twin Ask For LPSK Protection

JAKARTA - As many as eight victims of fraud and embezzlement of the twins Riana and Rihani complained to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to apply for protection as victims.

The victim's attorney, Odie Hudiyanto, said that the victims with the initials PMS, VF, JW, AF, MN, WW, DM, and SN were worried and threatened with being suspects like the other two victims.

The first report on the victim with the initials PMS who has become a defendant at the Tangerang District Court with case number 888/Pid.B/2023/PN.Tng. on June 22, 2023.

Then two reports on the victim with the initials VF with the number LP/B/1358/VI/2022/SPKT/Polres Metro South Jakarta/Polda Metro Jaya and LP/B/4082/VII/2022/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya

"Eight of the victims were not part of the Riana-Rihani syndicate, they helped based on friendship and good intentions to help sell products owned by Rinahan-Rihani, so our clients became intermediaries or mediators to other buyers," Odie said in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 11.

Odie explained that there was never an agreement or opportunity from Rinahan and Rihani to provide benefits to his clients.

"In fact, from the start until this letter we submitted to LPSK, there were no benefits or benefits received by our client from Rinhana-Rihani in the form of cash, transfers, or mobile goods or immovable items," said Odie.

According to Odieada, another buyer asked his client for help to broker the purchase of the iPhone product.

"The process was that the money was sent to our client's account and from our client the money deposited was immediately transferred to Rinahan and Rihani's accounts. No money was saved or embezzled by our clients," he said.

On the way, it turned out that the iPhone products were stuck and eventually jammed. The victims immediately responded by asking directly by telephone and visiting the residence of Rinahan and Rihani with other iPhone buyers.

"Rihana and Rihani did not respond well, instead fled and disappeared. So some of our clients made reports to the police within the Metro Jaya area," he said.

"At the same time, our client was also reported by one of the buyers under him to the East Ciputat Police and South Jakarta Police," continued Odie.

Meanwhile, LPSK Deputy Chairman Edwin Partogi confirmed the submission of a request for protection from the attorneys of the victims of the twin fraud.

"Yes, that's right, but it is in the process of being investigated," he said when contacted.
