Permata Bank Is Now 'in The Same Class' With BCA, Mandiri Bank, Etc.

JAKARTA - PermataBank officially became a "BUKU IV" bank after receiving confirmation from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on January 20, 2021. With a total core capital of more than IDR 30 trillion, according to data as of December 31, 2020, PermataBank has met the minimum core capital limit to be classified as a Commercial Bank Business Activity IV (BUKU IV).

This means that PermataBank is officially 'in the same class' and on par with other BUKU IV banks such as BCA, Mandiri Bank, BNI, BRI, Danamon, CIMB, and Panin. As of January 20, 2021, PermataBank can carry out BUKU IV business activities referring to POJK No.6/POJK.03/2016 dated 26 January 2016 concerning Business Activities and Office Networks Based on Bank Core Capital.

Ridha D.M. Wirakusumah, President Director of PermataBank, said that his party is certainly grateful that PermataBank has now become a BUKU IV Bank. This confirmation reflects the trust of the stakeholders, OJK, Bangkok Bank as the controlling shareholder and customers.

"We are committed to strengthening PermataBank's role as an agent of development supported by strong capital, prudential banking in accordance with good corporate governance and the sustainable development of our comprehensive digital banking platform and services," Ridha said in a statement received by VOI, quoted Thursday, January 28.

Chartsiri Sophonpanich, President of Bangkok Bank and President Commissioner of PermataBank, said that as one of the top 10 banks in Indonesia, PermataBank will continue to support the financial needs of its customers, especially during the current recovery period.

"We are very happy to be able to leverage Bangkok Bank's corporate banking expertise and its international network to create shared value with PermataBank and to become a trusted partner for our customers, employees and our community in Indonesia," he said.

At the end of the third quarter of 2020, PermataBank posted a growth in operating income before reserve of IDR 2.6 trillion, growing 20.4 percent year-on-year (yoy).

This achievement was also followed by the successful integration process between the Bangkok Bank's Indonesia Branch Office (BBI) and PermataBank which took place on 21 December 2020.
