NCT Dream Concert Ticket Fraud Arrested, 3 Months In Action Gets IDR 94 Million

TANGERANG - Police arrested a woman with the initials ES (30) who was suspected of committing fraudulent vocal group concert tickets from Korea, NCT Dreams against 19 victims with a total loss of Rp. 94 million. The mode used by the perpetrator is by opening ticket deposit services online.

Pagedagan Police Chief, AKP Seala Syah Alam said the perpetrators had launched their actions since March 2023 or before the concert was held. However, after the police received a report and conducted an investigation, ES was finally arrested in the Bekasi area, Saturday, July 8, at 05.00 WIB.

Through social media, either on Twitter or on Instagram, the perpetrator offers NCT Dreams tickets. The perpetrator can convince the victim that the perpetrator is able to get a ticket by paying the fee, which is done with several transactions. The concert was held in March," said Seala to reporters at the Pagedengan Police Headquarters, Monday, July 10.

"So this momentum is carried out by the perpetrators with the mode of being able to provide storage services to buy tickets online. There are 19 victims with a total loss of approximately RP 94 million," he continued.

Seala added that the perpetrator initially admitted that he was part of the NCT Dreams concert organizing committee at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency. On that basis, the victims could be tricked into reaping tens of millions of profits.

"The perpetrators were alone, because they carried out their actions through social media, were able to convince the victims, so that the victims were tempted and believed they could buy tickets from the perpetrators," he said.

The suspect ES was charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code Subsidiary Article 372 of the Criminal Code. The penalty is 4 years in prison.
