Gerindra Make Sure There Are Political Parties To Join KKIR Soon

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Board of Trustees Andre Rosiade said there would be a new political party (parpol) that would join the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) in July 2023.

"God willing, in July there will be various parties that declare themselves to support Pak Prabowo and join the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition," said Andre as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 6.

The leadership of the new political party that will join the coalition, said Andre, will also be involved in discussions related to the prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates who will be promoted in the 2024 presidential election.

"If later there is a party that joins this July, for example PAN joins us, of course later Pak Prabowo and Gus Muhaimin will invite a discussion of Bang Zulhas (General Chair of PAN)," he said.

However, he said that the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar was the candidate for the strongest vice presidential candidate to be side by side with Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto so far.

"Mr. Prabowo's vice presidential candidate is Gus Muhaimin. What is the point? Gus Muhaimin is the key holder of Mr. Prabowo's vice presidential candidate," he said.

Andre added that the Gerindra Party and PKB continue to explore communication with other political parties to date to increase their support base in facing the 2024 presidential election contestation.

"In order to expand the coalition, Pak Prabowo-Muhaimin agreed that the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition must be expanded," he said.
