Ministry Of Religion Plans To Use AI To Verify Documents For Candidates For Hajj 2024

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) plans to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the 2024 Hajj service, especially related to verification of participant documents in the hope of being more efficient and reducing the level of error.

"I have asked the Inspector General's team, for next year with Siskohat's friends (Integrated Hajj Information and Computerization System) to encourage Artificial Intelligence there," said Ministry of Religion Inspector General Faisal Ali Hasyim, in Mecca, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 5.

This step was taken, continued Faisal, because of the implementation of this year's Hajj, one of the obstacles faced was the verification of congregational documents.

Faisal gave an example of the review of Hajj pilgrims for a long time because they were constrained by incomplete data such as the name of one name of the Hajj participant but in the endorsement there were three names, the upload of photos was also lacking, and others.

According to Faisal, if someone inputs only one word if they have not attached a page three approval sheet, they will be rejected.

"For example, Faisal's name, if there is only one, it cannot be processed. Now, the visa request has three endorsements, after attached it can only be done, so it is not like it is now, from district to province and from province to central. Then from the center because it is considered less then throw it again to districts and cities," he said.

The use of AI, continued Faisal, is expected to reduce errors from the initial level, because with the readiness of data it can accelerate all stages including the configuration of the number of airplane seats.

"This is also a note that I will fix, namely, the preparation of congregational document data. Yesterday's visa request process just came out. So if it's all complete at the beginning, it's amazing," he said.
