Press Extreme Poverty, Ganjar Helps The Drinking Water Supply System In Pemalang
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo checked the construction and distribution of the drinking water supply system (SPAM) in Pemalang, Tuesday, July 4.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo checked the construction and distribution of drinking water supply systems (SPAM) in Gendowang Village, Moga District, Pemalang Regency, Tuesday, July 4. The assistance in the form of a clean water system is an intervention from the Central Java Provincial Government in an effort to deal with extreme poverty in the village.

"We want to pursue the need for clean water in every village. If in the village the village head can be as active as him is, we can find this, you know, my residents who lack clean water, you know, there is a clean water source. So then, how do we make water sources can be utilized so that they can be distributed," said Ganjar after reviewing the clean water assistance at residents' homes and SPAMs in Gendowang Village.

Ganjar explained that clean water assistance is a form of intervention in handling extreme poverty. The burden of spending on the poor for clean water can be reduced by the assistance of clean water. This is because the need for clean water has been met.

"So far, I have ignored it, if it is dry, buy it. If the government provides clean water, the expenditure for water will be reduced. Second, if the clean water can really meet the needs of the family, God willing, from a health perspective it will be helped," he explained.

This means, continued Ganjar, when the need for clean water is met, indicators of basic needs for residents who are categorized as poor are slowly repaired. Of course, outside of that there are other interventions such as repairing bases, floors, walls, latrines, electricity, and others.

"Also look for those who apologize for disabilities, look for those who are of productive age, school age but they do not go to school or are of productive age not working. We train them so that they can become the backbone. If only one can help their families, then the poverty indicators can be resolved quickly," he continued.

The construction of SPAM in Gendowang Village costs IDR 371,722,000 from the Central Java Provincial Budget. The capacity of the Gendowang SPAM reservoir is at least sufficient to meet the needs of clean water or drinking water for 200 houses or families.

"The capacity can be up to 200, but there is still one support that hasn't yet. I told him to find the source of the springs, we made it. It's not too expensive, 300 million actually happened and it becomes clean water. Especially now that before the dry season, it must be fast," said the governor for two periods.

Ganjar also reminded that the springs should be maintained. If necessary, the Village Regulation (Perdes) should not be damaged, and if necessary, add plants that can conserve springs.

In addition, village heads are asked to prepare a budget for the conservation of springs in their villages. The budget can come from village funds or financial assistance from provinces or districts/cities. The provincial government is also ready to facilitate if there are villages that will utilize springs for the needs of the community.

"The important thing is to quickly find springs so that they can be distributed to residents so that the clean water guarantees can be fulfilled, because this will be a health issue too. I thank you very much for being serious about finding, concentrating, distributing, educating the public so that this is useful," he said.

Saropah, a recipient of clean water assistance in Gendowang Village, admitted that she was very happy with the clean water assistance provided by Ganjar Pranowo. This is very helpful for clean water needs.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you very clean water. Previously, it used an ordinary tube but the water was not clean. Now the water is clean. It is used to cook, drink, take a shower," he said.
