Jokowi Inaugurates Sri Mulyani And Partners As The Supervisory Board Of The LPI: Next Week We Step On The Gas!

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated and took the occupational oath of six members of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Management Institution (LPI) at the State Palace, Jakarta today Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

"Earlier, we inaugurated the LPI Supervisory Board which we named the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA). This is an institution that we hope will become an alternative financing for our country's development,” said the President after the inauguration ceremony.

For information, the LPI Supervisory Board consists of five people, two of whom are stipulated in accordance with the Job Creation Act, namely the Minister of Finance and the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises. The other three people came from professional and independent elements who had previously gone through a number of selection processes and obtained the approval of the DPR.

"I am sure that with the track records of these professionals who have good experience and reputation, we hope that INA will gain the trust of both domestic and international so that the alternative financing that we hope for development can actually be achieved in large numbers," he said.

After this inauguration, the LPI Supervisory Board will elect a board of directors totaling five people. The LPI Board of Directors will also be filled by professionals. President Joko Widodo asked that the process be carried out immediately.

"I ask that at the latest next week the (board of directors) has also been formed and after that we will immediately work, step on the gas, according to what we have planned," he said.

The following is the complete composition of the LPI Supervisory Board inaugurated by President Jokowi:

1. Minister of Finance, as chairman concurrently serving as member;

2. Minister of State Owned Enterprises, as member;

3. Haryanto Sahari, as member for the term of office 2021-2024;

4. Yosua Makes, as member for the term of office of 2021-2025; and

5. Darwin Cyril Noerhadi, as member for the term of office 2021-2026.
