PPIH Reminds Heavy Suitcase Rules Ahead Of The Return Of Hajj Pilgrims

MEKKAH - Saudi Arabia's Head of Working Areas (Daker) Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) Haryanto again reminded the congregation about the heavy cooperative rules ahead of the inaugural repatriation of pilgrims to the country on July 4, 2023.

"The plan to return Indonesian pilgrims starts on July 4, 2023, with 18 groups," said Haryanto as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 1.

The first batch to return to the country is Batam (BTH). They will fly from King Abdul Azis International Airport in Jeddah at 00.05 Saudi Arabian Time (WAS).

Furthermore, following the Hajj pilgrims from the Jakarta Pondok Gede (JKG) collaboration, batch 1 flew at 00.10 WAS.

"Technically, the implementation of the return is as planned that eight hours of pilgrims have been dispatched from the Mecca hotel, a trip of one to two hours and six hours before arriving at Jeddah Airport, in the plaza," said Haryanto.

Haryanto reminded pilgrims not to carry excessive goods, because airline officers would carry it.

Pilgrims are only allowed to carry baggage suitcases weighing a maximum of 32 kilograms, cabin suitcases a maximum of 7 kilograms, and passport bags. Pilgrims are prohibited from carrying liquid objects in baggage suitcases, including Zamzam water.

During the return period, he said, it was usually quite crowded because usually the congregation brought excessive goods, such as carrying left and right tasteng.

"We beg you not to carry luggage such as Zamzam water in a bottle, packaged and then put it in a large suitcase, several things often happen but in the end the suitcase is dismantled and it will be a problem. The point is there is no fluid," said Haryanto.

For Zamzam water, according to him, every pilgrim will get five liters given after arriving in the country.
