JAKARTA - Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Bambang Susantono celebrated Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri/2023 AD on Thursday 29 June by slaughtering sacrificial animals. Iini is the first Eid in the new capital city of Indonesia, along with workers who are carrying out development projects and residents around the area.

According to the information received in Jakarta, the Head of OIKN started the agenda for celebrating Eid al-Adha 1444 by having breakfast together with approximately 300 construction, security and homekeeping workers, before continuing the distribution of sacrificial animals to villages around the IKN area.

"God willing, all the sacrifices, dedication, and contributions of workers in building IKN will be their reward and practice," said Bambang, who had a dialogue with the workers.

After the morning banquet with workers, the Chief of OIKN symbolically handed over sacrificial animals at the Nurul Muttaqin Mosque in Bumi Harapan, Sepaku District, Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan.

"With this we give up the sacrificial animal, one cow and two goats. If it can be given to those who are entitled. God willing, we will always get blessings and inyah from Allah SWT," said Bambang as reported by Antara.

The sacrificial animals conveyed by OIKN were purchased and selected directly from MSMEs belonging to residents around the IKN area which were handed over to two villages, namely Bukit Raya Village and Bumi Harapan Village.

Deputy for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment, OIKN Alimuddin, said that the activity was carried out as a sense of gratitude as well as a form of togetherness with the OIKN with the community.

"Of course we want to establish communication and togetherness by sharing, because one of IKN's ideals is to improve the welfare of the community," said Alimuddin.

Meanwhile, the Special Staff for Public Safety of IKN Brigadier General Pol Edgar Diponegoro conveyed that the agenda for celebrating Eid al-Adha and the provision of sacrificial animals was part of the OIKN's efforts to always get closer to the community.

Edgar hopes that the existence of OIKN can be a complement to the lives of people in Sepaku District.

This was agreed by one of the construction workers of IKN, Wigi, who admitted that the agenda made Eid al-Adha celebrations feel like they were in their own village.

"Alhamdulillah, the atmosphere is not much different from the village. It's getting more and more crowded because it's with friends, plus there's a banquet too," said Wigi.
