KPK Announces Employees Caught Cutting Official Travel Money

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that an employee was caught cutting official travel fees. This incident allegedly occurred from 2021-2022.

"I hereby convey the alleged corruption in the field of administrative work carried out by one of the KPK elements," said KPK Secretary General Cahya H. Harefa at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 27.

Cahya said this allegation was found by the employee's superiors and work team. However, he did not reveal the identity of the perpetrator.

He said, the superior and team of employees initially complained about the protracted administrative process. Not only that, there was a cut in official travel fees.

"The rules and teams then submitted a report to the Inspectorate as implementing an internal supervisory function," he said.

After the examination, it was found that there was a state loss. "With a value of IDR 550 million with a period of 2021-2022," said Cahya.

Cahya said the Inspectorate reported the employee to the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK. He will be prosecuted to account for his actions.

Not only that, the Secretary General of the KPK also reported the allegation to the Supervisory Board. The goal is that employees can be sentenced to ethics.

"It is the same with the process that the person has been relieved of his duties to facilitate the examination process," he concluded.
