JAKARTA - The prosecutor prosecuted four children in conflict with the law (ABH) who were involved in the case of the beating of two TNI members in Rejang Lebong Regency on December 31, 2020. This incident caused one TNI member to die and another seriously injured with a sentence of 4.6 years and 7.6 years.

Public Relations of Curup District Court, Ihsan Nur Sahabudin, said that the trial of the case of the beating of two TNI members who served at Yonif 144 Jaya Yudha Curup put four children perpetrators or ABH to be divided into two case files.

"Today the agenda is the reading of the prosecutor's prosecution from the Rejang Lebong Prosecutor's Office, for case file number 1 the charge is guilty of violating Article 170 paragraph 2 being charged with a sentence of 4.6 years. Case number 2 which is considered proven by the Prosecutor Article 338 is prosecuted for 7.6 years," said Ihsan Nur after the trial which was held in the courtroom for the children of the Curup District Court, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 26.

He said that the four ABH involved in this case were divided into two files, namely case file number 1 in the name of KP, RW and MA charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, case file number 2 is in the name of ABH J who was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code.

The trial agenda which was held online from LPKA Bengkulu where the ABH were detained, he said, would be continued on Thursday, January 28 with an agenda of reading the defense, and it is targeted that in early February there will be a decision.

He added that the ABHs who were being demanded by the Prosecutor Attorney General Rejang Lebong were in accordance with the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA) which was standard because they could only be prosecuted for half of the adult crimes.

"For ABH in case file number 1, the evidence is article 170 paragraph 2, beatings which resulted in injuries. Meanwhile, ABH in case file number 2, which is proven in article 338, is murder. Because case file number 2 concerns the victim who died," he explained.

ABH on behalf of J himself, said Ihsan, was related to other perpetrators who were adults whose files had not been filed with a total of four people.

Previously, these four ABHs along with four other adult perpetrators were involved in the beating of two members of the TNI Yonif 144 Jaya Yudha Curup on December 31, 2020, at around 23.30 WIB at the Setia Negara Curup Field, causing Second Private (Prada) Yofan Setiandi to die and First Private (Pratu) Agus Salim to suffer severe injuries.
