The Police Immediately Arrested Ambroncius Nababan After Becoming A Suspect

JAKARTA - Hanura Party politician Ambroncius Nababan is a suspect in a case of alleged racial hate speech. He juxtaposed Natalius Pigai's photo with a gorilla.

The suspect was determined after investigators conducted an examination of Ambroncius Nababan and a number of experts. From here the investigator conducts a case title. The result decided Ambroncius Nababan as a suspect.

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said that after the determination of the suspect, his party immediately picked up Ambroncius Nababan this afternoon. "Earlier, around 18.30 WIB, he was taken to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. And currently at 19.40 WIB he has arrived in Police Criminal Investigation Unit", said Argo in a press conference, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 26.

However, Argo did not specify the pick-up process for Ambroncius Nababan. It's just, he said, after being picked up, the Hanura politician is currently undergoing an intensive examination.

"Investigators will conduct an examination of the suspect AN as a suspect," he said.

In the case of a cadre of the Hanura Party, Ambroncius Nababan, he faces a prison sentence of 5 years. This is because the investigator suspects it with multiple articles.

Ambroncius Nababan is charged with Article 45A paragraph (2) Jo Article 28 paragraph (2) Law Number 19 Year 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, and/or Article 16 Jo Article 4 letter b paragraph (1) of Law Number 40 of 2008 concerning the elimination of racial and ethnic discrimination and/or Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
