Not Only Aldi Taher, The DKI KPU Finds 24 Double Bacalegs

The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province recorded as many as 24 candidates for legislative members (bacapleg) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD who have duplicate data in their registration to participate in the 2024 election contestation.

"Prospective candidates for provincial DPRD members whose data is double between political parties, as well as double electoral districts from the same political party as many as 24 people," said KPU Chairman Sunardi in his statement, Monday, June 26.

The 24 legislators, called Nurdin, were declared not to have met the requirements (BMS) to be appointed as legislative candidates in the 2024 General Election.

Overall, there is 88.12 percent of the legislative review of the DKI Jakarta DPRD that has not met the requirements to be appointed as a legislative candidate in the 2024 Legislative Election. This was stated in the results of the DKI KPU plenary meeting on June 23.

"There are 1,902 candidates for Provincial DPRD members. Those who are declared MS (meeting the requirements) are 226 people or 11.88 percent, while BMS is 1,676 people or 88.12 percent," said Nurdin.

Sunardi said that there were also several candidates for DPD RI members in the DKI Jakarta electoral district who were declared ineligible.

"The number of candidates for DPD members is 25 people. The MS is 18 people or 72 percent, while BMS is 7 people or 12 percent," he said.

Sunardi explained several reasons why the DPRD and DPD balaleg were declared ineligible. Among them are differences in the writing of names on the contents of the Candidate Information System (SILON) with the BB Statement Model form Bakal Candidate.

Another factor is the absence of a check mark on the BB Statement Model form Bakal Candidate, the use of a title that is not accompanied by a diploma document, or there is a wrong upload document.

Not only that, the DKI Jakarta KPU also found 24 people from the DKI DPRD who had double data between political parties, as well as double electoral districts from the same political party.

The KPU provides a deadline for improving registration documents that do not meet the requirements for the DPD RI legislative review of the DKI electoral district and the regional or regional leadership council (DPW/DPD) of political parties for its legislators for the next few days.

"For documents that have not been correct and indicated that the doubles that have been determined have not met the requirements can be corrected during the repair period from June 26 to July 9, 2023," explained Sunardi.
