President Director Of Ancol Targets Putri Duyung Hotel To Operate At The End Of 2023

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk (PJAA), Winartomebut Hotel Putri Duyung sebagai ikon Taman Impian Jaya Ancol dapat beroperasi pada Desember 2023.

"God willing, in December this year it will be operational," he said after a meeting with Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Currently, PJAA is still focused on improving infrastructure in several parts of the hotel. One of the improvements is the Pope Suites which is considered the leading place offered by Ancol.

The Suites whale was also carried out again because previously it was badly damaged by the fire that occurred in 2022.

Winarto said the budget disbursed came from funds owned by Ancol itself.

"There are not many budgets, only tens of billions," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.

With this development, he hopes that the Putri Duyung Hotel can attract public attention and Ancol's profits will increase.

Previously, a member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Muhammad Taufik Zoelkifli, asked the management of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk to be more serious about fixing the neglected Putri Duyung Hotel.

"My Putri Duyung Hotel has always been like that until now," said Taufik during a meeting with PT Pembangunan Jaya AncolTbk at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Wednesday.

Taufik said that if handled properly, the Putri Duyung Hotel has great potential to contribute income to PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

Taufik assessed that the Putri Duyung Hotel has a strategic location so that it has the potential to become a luxury hotel for Ancol visitors.

Instead, he questioned PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, who instead focused on collaborating with Marriott in building a hotel which was later declared stalled.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Wa Ode Herlina, also regretted the neglect of the Putri Duyung Hotel, especially after being burned in 2022.

He hopes that the Putri Duyung Hotel can be rebuilt and become one of Ancol's leading icons.

"If it can be renovated or made again to remind Jakarta residents that we have the Putri Duyung Hotel which is the icon of Ancol," he explained.

Previously, there were many discussions about several projects that were in Ancol stalled. Several stalled projects include the construction of apartments, hotels to ABC malls. The project did not work and resulted in losses for Ancol.

The problem has increased by the issue of dualism between the company in collaboration with PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

Because of this problem, Commission B of the DKI DPRD summoned the ranks of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk.
