JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin invites the public to tolerate the difference in the determination of Eid al-Adha time.
"The attitude that has been built is tolerance, mutual understanding, and mutual understanding of differences," he said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 19.
This was conveyed by Ma'ruf following the different determinations of Eid between the government and the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership.
The government has set Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri to fall on June 29, 2023, while the Muhammadiyah Central Executive has set Eid al-Adha on June 28, 2023.
Ma'ruf said that the difference in the determination of the beginning of the month of Ramadan, Syawal, and Zulhijah is a common thing. "It means it's been a long time, we've been years, that we're not always different, but there's a difference," he said.
"The next ten years can be seen, at this time there are differences, this is not different, and the community is ready to be different in (determining) the beginning of fasting, or Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha," he explained.
Regarding the provisions of the Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri holiday, the Vice President said that the government would tolerate it by taking into account the possibilities.
