776 Vehicles In Ternate Ticketed Manual In A Month, Dominated By Non- Helmet Passengers

TERNATE - The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Ternate Police has ticketed 776 vehicles manually since the evaluation of the enactment of electronic ticketing or ETLE.

Head of Traffic at the Ternate Police, Iptu Rezza Muhammad Fajrin, said that the number of vehicles, both two and four wheels, was ticketed manually for almost 1 month or 28 days.

"Each violation, namely 771 motorcycles and five units for four wheels," he said in Ternate, North Maluku (Malut), Friday, June 16.

Rivan explained that the drivers of vehicles who were caught in raids from May 8 to June 14, 2023 were dominated by passengers not wearing helmets, not wearing mirrors, using exhaust tracing, and not completing vehicle documents.

"So most of the types of violations found by officers in the field do not use a rear helmet when riding a motorcycle. On average, the number plate is dead," he said.

He also appealed to motorists to always prioritize safety by obeying traffic rules.

"I invite all motorists not to be afraid of Polantas, but your safety while driving. The point is traffic awareness is important. The safety of the community is also our success in traffic," he said.

The Head of Sub-Directorate for Security and Safety (Kamsel) of the Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the North Maluku Police, Kompol Hendra Gunawan, hopes that this manual ticket, the public will always obey the traffic provisions.

Policy was carried out under the instructions of the National Police Chief General. Listyo Sigit Prabowo told traffic to again hold manual ticketing throughout Indonesia, including the Ditlantas Polda Malut to reduce the number of accidents.

He said, when manual ticketing was abolished and replaced by the application of electronic ticketing through ETLE camera monitoring, public compliance in North Maluku in traffic was not as expected.

He gave an example, there are still many people who can see that they ignore traffic provisions, especially on roads that do not have an ETLE camera, when they leave the house without a helmet and are found riding three people, especially for two-wheeled vehicles and even they fight the flow.

So, since the re-implementation of manual ticketing for officers from the North Maluku Regional Police Ditlantas and ranks from the Resort Police in ten districts and cities in North Maluku have netted hundreds of motorists.
