2 Meter High Piles Of Waste In Bojonggede Begin To Be Transported

BOGOR - The Environmental Service (DLH) of Bogor Regency, West Java, has begun to transport garbage that accumulates up to two meters high in residential areas, Bojonggede Village.

Head of the Waste Management Division of the Bogor Regency DLH, Ismambar Fadli, explained that waste transportation was carried out in mutual cooperation by lowering four trucks.

Waste transportation involved officers from the Bogor Regency DLH, officers from the Cibinong UPT DLH, also involved assistance personnel from the UPT Jasinga DLH, RT administrators, RW administrators and the surrounding community.

"Today, we sent four fleets to transport garbage in Bojonggede Village Mosque Village, because other fleets are operating to transport garbage," Fadli said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 14.

According to him, the handling was carried out in accordance with instructions issued by the Acting Regent of Bogor, Iwan Setiawan some time ago.

The pile of garbage that will be transported in the next few days is taken to the Galuga Final Waste Disposal Site (TPAS).

"We will do this until the zero waste, and the environment in the area can be clean again as expected by the surrounding community," he said.

Fadli asked the public to immediately report if a buildup of illegal waste was found in their respective areas.

"We also need data on which locations do require assistance in transporting waste by DLH. If there are no reports or complaints, we will also have difficulties, that is the importance of cooperation," said Fadli.

Previously, the village head of Bojonggede Dede Malvina admitted that he had responded to the problem of piles of garbage that had occurred since 2017. One of them is by fencing and giving an appeal to residents not to throw garbage back in the place.

However, the garbage disposal site is apparently managed by several residents, but not professionally.

"How can garbage near densely populated areas be burned every day, with rainy conditions quite high, and the last problem is 2021," he explained.

Dede also admitted that he had asked the manager to be responsible, because the pile of garbage often had problems, ranging from emitting unpleasant odors, to flooding during the rainy season.

"It is impossible for residents to have collected (cost) but the garbage is still accommodated there, there must be more cooperation with DLH or private," said Dede.

He hopes that after the pile of garbage is transported by DLH, the public can dispose of waste in a coordinated manner by the RT, RW and DLH Bogor Regency.
