He said the witness' report to the firefighters was seen from the shop, then reported it to the Padang City Fire Department.

The Padang City Fire Department deployed seven fire engines with 70 personnel to extinguish the fire. They kept trying to get to the location for a short time and put out the fire.

"This location is located in residential areas and we are trying to extinguish the fire so it doesn't spread further," he said.

There were seven burning buildings consisting of five shops and two houses, while the burned area was 500 square meters.

"We recorded that the losses due to this incident reached Rp. 1 billion," he said.
