SEMARANG - Muhammad Patrik Sianturi swiftly accepted the challenge of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo to introduce himself using Japanese. With full confidence, Patrik managed to amaze Ganjar with Japanese language skills.

The moment was recorded when Ganjar attended the opening of the 2023 Japanese Internship Selection Test, at the Central Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office, Monday, June 12. Patrik is one of 550 participants in the selection of internships to Japan.

Hearing this, Patrik without hesitation raised his hand and then introduced himself to use Japanese. At that time, the Director of IM Japan, a representative of Jakarta, Akasaka, was present who also assessed Patrik's sentence.

"Earlier you said Lampung, how come the list is here?" said Ganjar.

"Yes sir, assisted by LPK Lampung to register here. Because there is no information (Japanese Internship)," said Patrik.

Ganjar appreciated Patrik's enthusiasm for going all the way to Central Java to take part in the internship program to Japan. Ganjar advised Patrik to practice discipline and absorb knowledge as much as possible during an internship in Japan.

"We have carried out many programs and in Japan many times from the Ministry of Manpower have been present, from the Japanese side, then from our Manpower Office, both provincial and city, try facilitating our children," said Ganjar.

The two-term Central Java governor said this program provides opportunities for vocational high school graduates, especially in Central Java, to be able to add knowledge and experience.

We are trying to open up the widest possible space so that our children can work around the world. So that our labor absorption, we can find a way for them to get a good place and of course the experience is also better," he said.

The Japanese Internship Program has provided many benefits, especially for residents of Central Java. He gave an example of a graduate of SMK from Banyumas named Samsi who finally decided to return home from Indonesia, after three years of participating in this program.

Some participants finally returned to their area of origin to open their own business after getting work experience and capital to open a business. However, not a few have remained in Japan to continue their careers.

"The average thing they have experience beyond the added value is this is how we encourage our children to really get that chance," he continued.

Meanwhile, a participant in the selection for internships to Japan, Rahmat Andrian, admitted that he was very happy to be able to participate in this program. The graduate of Madrasah Aliyah in Demak hopes to get a good job and be able to have a career abroad.

"In my opinion, this program is very helpful and can increase human resources, especially for young people who want to go abroad to work and increase their knowledge skills, like me," he said.

To note, it is not only vocational school graduates who can take part in this program. For non vocational school graduates, such as Madrasah Aliyah, only need to add a technical certificate as a registration requirement.

For information, the registration stage for the internship program to Japan in 2023 has started from February 13 to June 2, 2023. Then the selection test will last for five days, starting from June 12 to June 16, 2023. The duration of the internship to Japan was followed by a minimum of 3 years.

The Japanese Internship Program can also be followed by participants from outside Central Java Province. Participants from outside Central Java Province who want to register will be facilitated by LPK-SO under the guidance of the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Office.
