Gempa Cianjur 3 Hari Bersurut-turut, BPBD Imbau Pemilik Balita Jangan Panik Menyelamatkan Diri

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) asked Cianjur residents to remain vigilant and not panic as a result of the earthquake hitting the district in West Java again.

The earthquake occurred again in Cianjur for the last two days. The third earthquake was felt by Cianjur residents on Monday, June 12 morning.

"Most residents are still traumatized, but don't panic, make them forget themselves so that they can threaten safety or life. The earthquake that occurred is not thought to be destructive because it occurred in seconds on a low scale," said BPBD Secretary Cianjur Rudi Wibowo in Cianjur, West Java, Monday, June 12, quoted by Antara.

He reminded that if he felt the tremors of the earthquake, he was careful when rushing out of the house to the open.

Especially for bamil mothers and children under five, continued Rudi, don't panic, causing residents to have an accident when they want to save themselves from the house or get out of the building.

The Cianjur earthquake that occurred Monday, June 12, had a magnitude of 2.5 with an earthquake center in Cugenang District. The Lindu was caused by the shift in the Cugenag Fault.

Residents had rushed out of the house because the vibration was quite strong accompanied by a roar.

Rudi said BPBD noted no damage was reported or casualties in the earthquake this morning.

"We are still collecting data, but as of Monday afternoon [12 June] there have been no reports of damage or casualties in the earthquake that occurred for the third time in the last two days. However, the panic of residents was reported in a number of sub-districts," he said.
