INDRAMAYU - The Indramayu Resort Police, West Java, named three suspects in a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) after it was proven that they illegally dispatched migrant workers abroad.
"We have named three TIP suspects," said Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.
The three people named as TIP suspects were each woman with the initials DS, as well as two men with the initials ES, and TO. The two suspects are residents of Indramayu Regency and one other suspect is from Majalengka.
Fahri said the determination of the three TIP suspects after his party received a report from one of the residents who were victims of TIP.
The police chief explained that based on a series of investigations and investigations, the three suspects were proven to be actively gathering potential victims and sending them to the Middle East as illegal migrant workers.
"We received a report from the victim and after that carried out a series of investigations and investigations, up to three people were named as suspects in the TIP case," he said.
Fahri revealed that the chronology of the TIP case began with the victim who saw the upload of one of the suspects on social media regarding work in overseas with the lure of a salary of Rp. 5 million per month.
After that, the victim contacted the suspect to register as a migrant worker. Furthermore, the suspect ordered the victim to do a health check, make passports, and other administrative requirements.
After the requested requirements were completed, the victim was then dispatched to the United Arab Emirates through PT Elsafah Adi Wiguna to become a household assistant with a salary of Rp. 4.5 million per month.
"However, unfortunately, the victim fell and was sick, and was even fired by his employer. The victim then returned to Indonesia on personal costs," he said.
