KPU Ensures All Political Parties Meet The Composition Of Female Legislative Candidates

The General Election Commission (KPU) said that all political parties participating in the 2024 General Election have fulfilled the composition of prospective female DPR members in the preparation of the candidate list, as mandated by Article 246 paragraph (2) of the Election Law.

"All political parties or 18 political parties participating in the 2024 General Election have met the provisions of Article 246 paragraph (2) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections," said KPU member Idham Holik as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.

This article regulates the list of candidates for legislative members (caleg) in each electoral district (dapil) prepared with a minimum composition of one woman among the three candidates.

The KPU has also released complete data on the percentage of candidates for female DPR members submitted by political parties participating in the 2024 General Election in 84 electoral districts.

Partai Ummat: 292 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 49.66 percent.

Garuda Party: 264 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives or 45.52 percent.

Perindo: 249 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives or 42.93 percent.

Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN): 238 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 41.03 percent.

The Crescent Star Party (PBB): 235 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives or 40.52 percent.

Labor Party: 222 women out of a total of 580 candidates for DPR members or 38.28 percent.

Hanura Party: 217 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives or 37.41 percent.

Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN): 215 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 37.07 percent.

Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP): 214 perempuan dari total 580 bakal calon anggota DPR RI atau 36,90 persen.

Gerindra Party: 208 women out of a total of 580 candidates for DPR members or 35.86 percent.

Prosperous Justice Party (PKS): 208 women out of a total of 580 candidates for DPR members or 35.86 percent.

Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB): 207 perempuan dari total 580 bakal calon anggota DPR RI atau 35.69 persen.

Democratic Party: 201 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 34.66 percent.

The NasDem Party: 199 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 34.31 percent.

Golkar Party: 197 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives or 33.97 percent.

Partai Gelora: 157 women out of a total of 463 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 33.91 percent.

PDI Perjuangan: 190 women out of a total of 580 candidates for members of the DPR RI or 32.76 percent.

Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI): 187 perempuan dari total 580 bakal calon anggota DPR RI atau 32,24 persen.
