1B Phase LRT Station Potentially Raises Passenger Buildup In Manggarai

JAKARTA - Commission B of the DKI Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) said that the LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai Station has the potential to cause a buildup of passengers in Manggarai, South Jakarta.

"There is a potential for crowds at the end of Manggarai which will later be slice by other modes of transportation, there is a TransJakarta bus, there is a commuterline," said Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.

According to him, the accumulation of passengers at Manggarai Station will actually cause new problems, ranging from traffic jams to hampered mode departure times.

Therefore, Ismail hopes that the LRT management will prepare various anticipations so that the accumulation of passengers does not occur at Manggarai Station.

Some of the anticipations that must be prepared, namely the diversion of traffic flow to the provision of land in the Manggarai LRT Station area.

With this anticipation, he hopes that the construction of the LRT Station in Manggarai will not cause new problems.
