YOGYAKARTA - President Joko Widodo distributed a number of T-shirts to residents and tourists who were in the Malioboro area, precisely in front of the gates of the Gedung Agung, Yogyakarta.

President Jokowi and his entourage were seen leaving the Presidential Palace at around 19:57 WIB, heading to Bakmi Pak Pele in the North Square area, Yogyakarta.

Jokowi did not get out of the presidential car, but from inside Jokowi's car had time to distribute black T-shirts to residents who were crowding in Malioboro.

"I was very happy to get a T-shirt from the President. It was just passing by, it turned out that Pak Jokowi threw a shirt and then I arrested him," Hasanudin (49), a tourist from Depok, West Java, was reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1.

Hasanudin, who wanted to spend a long holiday in Gudeg City with his family, admitted that he would wear a T-shirt for giving the head of state upon his return in Depok.

Apart from Hasanudin, Alex, a parking attendant in the Sonobudoyo Mesum area, also received a T-shirt from the President.

As President Jokowi's car walked slowly across the museum, Alex approached and managed to catch the shirt thrown from the car.

"The shirt is given by the president, I will definitely use it," said Alex briefly.

President Jokowi's working visit to Yogyakarta coincided with the first day of the long weekend holiday which began with the commemoration of the Birthday of Pancasila, Thursday, June 1, 2023.
