Polri: The Recruitment Of Independent Pam Passes Through The Selection Process

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters said that the recruitment of the Independent Community Security Force (Pam Swakarsa) would go through a selection process. The selection will be under the supervision of the Community Development Unit (Binmas).

"The recruitment of Pam Swakarsa through business entities focuses on security. So a selection will be carried out," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Friday, January 22.

Then, the results of the participants who passed the selection will be reported to the respective Binmas Regional Police (Polda). Furthermore, each Polda will be handed over to the Police Headquarters. So, all Pam Swakarsa members will be registered.

"Then it is reported to the respective Binmas Polda followed by the Police Headquarters," he continued.

In addition, the concept of Pam Swakarsa is a mandate of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning Polri and is outlined in the Chief of Police Regulation Number 4 of 2020.

In the Perkap several aspects are regulated, (namely) security guards, security guards, and permits issued by the Police. However, it was emphasized that Pam Swakarsa was formed with the awareness and will of the community itself.

"The security of Swakarsa is formed based on the willingness and awareness of the public's interest to have the police function so that the environment is safe," he said.

Previously, the National Police Chief, Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, plans to reactivate Pam Swakarsa. This is done to create security and public order.

Later the troops containing civilians will be synergized with the police. So, cooperation to create safe conditions will be well established.
