Update On COVID-19 Cases As Of January 22: New Cases 13,632, Accumulated 965,283 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 77,942 specimens were examined with the results of 13,632 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 965,283 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, January 22.

Cases recovered today have increased by 8,357 so that a total of 781,147 people have recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 250 people and a total of 27,453 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 3,792 new cases and a total of 243,018 cases. DKI is the province with the most cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 2,441 new cases with a total of 121,239 cases. Central Java has 1,796 new cases and a total of 111,623 cases. Then, East Java has 1,056 new cases and a total of 104,342 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,169 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,361 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 675 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an increase of 675 recovered cases.

One province reported having no new cases as of today. The province with zero new cases is Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 8,638,162. In detail, as many as 8,501,521 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 136,641 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 16.7 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 79,349 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
