PPP Will Propose 2 Candidates For Vice President For Ganjar, Sandiaga Uno One Of Them?

Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Mardiono stated that there are two that will be recommended to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

He did not specify the name but did not refuse when the name of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno was mentioned.

"From PPP, yes, of course, we will propose the names, including those mentioned earlier by our media colleagues, but there are other names," Mardiono told reporters at the PPP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 29.

"At least PPP will propose about two names," he continued.

Mardiono stated that PPP would submit the proposal to PDIP as the party that carried Ganjar at the right time. Because, in today's meeting, they have not discussed the vice presidential candidate (cawapres).

"Later on, we will announce the two names, who we will propose to the PDI-P which will later become a mutual agreement," he said.

Previously, PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani said that she did not want to rush to decide on the vice presidential candidate for Ganjar. There are a number of considerations before the decision is made, such as being able to increase the electoral effect so that it must be accepted by the public.

"So we will discuss it again so that it can be discussed together by the General Chairperson (General Chairperson of PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri) and the General Chairperson of PPP," he said.

"However, in the future discussion, all of this will provide good input. Who can later become a harmonious partner, can work together," continued the chairman of the DPR RI.
