PPU DPRD Believes IKN Main Location Of The RI 78th Anniversary Ceremony Can Attract Investor Interest

The North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU) DPRD, East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim), assessed that the implementation of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence ceremony in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) would increase investor confidence. "The implementation of the Independence Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia in IKN can be the trust of world investors to invest in the new capital city of Indonesia," said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the PPU DPRD, Jon Kenedi in Penajam, East Kalimantan, Thursday, May 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

Jon believes that this effort will attract foreign and domestic investors. In fact, he continued, the ceremony for the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN covering parts of the PPU area such as Sepaku District can be a sign of the seriousness of the central government in realizing the relocation of the capital city from DKI Jakarta. "We support President Joko Widodo's plan to hold the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on August 17, 2024 in the IKN area," he explained. The plan for the head of state, he continued, shows that the development of IKN infrastructure and the development of the IKN buffer zone will slowly continue to be carried out by the central government. The central government is believed to not only carry out IKN development, but will also build other buffer areas, especially areas from IKN, namely PPU Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency.

"There is no reason not to support and encourage the development of IKN in parts of Penajam Paser Utara Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency. In fact, we encourage the central government to accelerate the development of IKN infrastructure," he added. The Democratic Party's policy hopes that President Joko Widodo's target of realizing IKN in parts of North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency in East Kalimantan Province will be achieved. "We hope that the central government will accelerate the development of IKN infrastructure, especially the construction of the State Palace and other government offices," said Jon Kenedi.
