Vietnamese Residents Died In South Kalimantan Waters, Police Wait For Hospital Information To Search The Cause

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - A foreign national (WNA) from Vietnam was found dead on a ship in the waters of Tabeo, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) on Monday 22 May.

"A Vietnamese foreigner was found by his friend, a fellow crew member (ABK) in a lifeless condition," said Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol. Mochamad Rifai when confirmed in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Wednesday, May 25, as reported by Antara.

Currently, the body of the male Vietnamese is handled by the local police.

He said the police had carried out further processing and examined the findings of the bodies of the Vietnamese.

"Currently, the body is being examined at a local hospital in the process of being investigated in the form of examining witnesses and conducting a post-mortem to determine the cause of death," he said.

The body of a Vietnamese resident is thought to have died three days ago and was quarantined on the MV PVT Saphire ship.

He also mentioned that the man named Hoang Van Thang was born in Hai Phong City, Vietnam.

Until now, the police have not been able to provide further information regarding the death of the foreigner.

Rifai said that currently his party is waiting for the results of the local hospital (RS) examination.
